Can't wait for my 3rd visit!!

I came across this cabin several years ago for a romantic "no kid" weekwnd during a cold winter...and I couldn't wait to visit again because we truly loved it. This time My young teen, my dog and I went for a mother /son trip, I still wasn't disappointed. My dog seemed to enjoy being able a take a trip with us, so thank you so much for providing a pet friendly cabin. We enjoyed a nice fire and the hot tub. We made use of the monopoly game there and a few dvds. If you can handle a few days without cable or wifi, (kids might panic though LOL) you truly won't be disappointed staying here, this truly is a gem. The owners are very accommodating in assuring you have the extras you need for a great stay. Thank you both so much for sharing your cabin and for all the extras you do to make our stay even better.

Awesome place

We had an awesome time, the property is very well maintained and secluded for a nice private get away. The owners were very nice, helpful, and accommodating. The price was very reasonable and well worth what they were asking per night compared to other properties in the area. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect Weekend

2 adults and one baby stayed for 3 nights. Wonderful cabin. Clean, nicely decorated, fully stocked, comfortable beds and pillows. Peaceful and private. We saw deer playing in the fields. We sat on back deck and drank our morning coffee and read our books. Took morning hikes on the lovely trails outside the cabin. Its so nice to come somewhere that welcomes pets and your dog can enjoy running loose without heaven. Owner provided pack and play for baby to sleep in, baby gate to block off the stairs, and high chair too!! Spent time shopping in Amish country. Will definitely return!

Quiet and relaxing

If you're looking for a place to unwind and unplug, then this is the one for you. The owners have thought of everything for you. This was our 2nd time staying here and we loved it.

We had a great weekend stay at the cabin. Very peaceful setting in beautiful country. We will definitely return for another getaway if the opportunity arises. It was very easy to make reservations and they were very helpful with us having our dog. They had her a bed and treats plus food and water dishes.

4th Time Visit

This is our go-to decompression retreat. We have stayed 4 times, and will again. If you check the journals, we are on the back of page 1 of the first, and now on the back of page 1 of the 2nd. Karma... we had 2 other stays in between. We have such great memories associated with this place, even though some of the times we visited were during sad occasions. It's a very healing place. It's a little off the main Amish Country route, but that's why we like it. Almost next door to French Ridge Winery, a must to visit. Hosts are always improving the experience, based on feedback.

Ethan's Retreat

We had an absolute wonderful stay. The farmhouse was spotless. There were many amenities, like home grown brown eggs and chocolate mint on our pillows. Sarge, our pooch was in seventh heaven chasing squirrels. Our favorite area was the back deck which was so high off the ground that it was like living in a treehouse. Beautiful grounds with so many trees, like a forrest. We want to come back. Thanks you Nancy and Colin! The Davis Family

Absolutely Perfect!

This cabin is complete perfection. The extra special touches are priceless, from the doggy treats to the leashes and safety vest for walking - they literally have thought of EVERYTHING. I couldn't believe the stocked kitchen and refrigerator - what a nice surprise! This cabin is beautiful, updated, comfy and spotless - and it has been very well taken care of. The re-naming of the cabin (after the owners grandson) is really perfect for this place - it takes you away from it all and reminds you to just breathe and enjoy God's creation. Thank you so much for an absolutely wonderful weekend - we are already planning the next visit. We have been to Amish Country for 17 years for our anniversary and you blow everyone else away with your incredible hospitality!! PS - Thanks for the recommendation on where to kayak - we decided on Kokosing River and it was the clearest water I've ever seen in a river - absolutely gorgeous kayak trip. Until next time.... Welcoming for Pets too

We have stayed in many cabins/cottages in OH, IN, NC and TN. We have never had an experience so warm and welcoming as Ethans Retreat. From the minute we opened the door you could sense the coziness. The attention to detail was above and beyond what you would expect from a rental cabin. We usually try to rent a cabin that accepts pets. On this trip even Cooper was given special treatment. If you are looking for quiet, remote seclusion, this is the right cabin. We loved hearing the chatter in the trees and even watched a wild turkey. Too many extras to name to make your stay feel like home or even better. If the opportunity arises, we will be back.

Had a fantastic time getting away from it all. A bottle of wine (or a few), hot tub and a clear night how can one go wrong. Will be back!!
