CAUTION: WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT RELY EXCLUSIVELY ON YOUR GPS NAVIGATION, AS THESE SYSTEMS DON’T KNOW WHICH ROADS ARE PAVED, DIRT, WASHED OUT, OR EXIST ONLY ON A MAP.

Following major roads, arrive at one of the following larger communities:

From south and east, go to Coshocton

From south and west, go to Danville

From north and west, go to Nashville

From north and east, go to Millersburg

From these points, we recommend that you be very skeptical of what your GPS may tell you, and be guided by these recommendations instead.

FROM COSHOCTON:

Your navigation may suggest that you take the US-36 west and then either the OH-60 or the OH-715/OH-206 north. The 60 is subject to washout, and often has construction work. The 715/206 route is longer. The fastest route is to take OH-83 north out of Coshocton. After about 20 miles, turn left (west) onto US-62 toward Killbuck and Danville.

In approximately 5 miles, just past the downtown Killbuck turnoff, and immediately after crossing over Killbuck Creek, turn right onto OH-520. Your navigation may suggest one of the township roads (56, 66, 31, or 34) instead. Please don’t do that.

After 1 mile you will come to a Y intersection with the 621. Take the left Y to stay on OH-520. Go another mile North on OH-520 to County Road 6 and bear left at the Y onto CR-6. This turn is somewhat hidden, and looks more like a driveway than a county road. The Black Creek Taxidermy shop is just beyond this turn, so if you reach the Taxidermy shop, you have gone about 100 feet too far.

Go 5 miles west on Co Road 6. You will pass Township road 34 and the sign for the French Creek Winery (on the left), and travel just past the Civil War historical marker on the right. There is a row of mailboxes on the left side of the road. Our name is on the last mailbox (Dawson/Ethan’s Retreat).

Turn left onto the private lane. This is a dirt road that is shared with three other properties. The road ends at our property, approx. 0.8 mile off CR-6. The gate is not locked, but we do ask that you keep it closed. From the gate it is about another 2,000 feet to Ethan’s Retreat. On the way, you will pass our shop building (on your left), main log cabin (on your left), equipment shed (on your right), and barn (on your left). You will also pass some oil tanks, an oil well, our trailers, and our mill. The Retreat is on the right.

FROM DANVILLE:

Take US-62 east (toward Killbuck and Millersburg). After about 8 miles there will be an intersection for OH-206 to the right and County 25 to the left. The 206 is well marked, but the 25 is not. Turn left on the 25. After about a mile, turn right to stay on the 25 (the 75 is straight ahead). About a mile and 3/4 ahead, County Road 6 will Y off to the right. Again, poorly marked, but there is a statuary store at the corner, so when you see all the little statues, bear right. About a half mile ahead is our entrance road. There is a row of mailboxes on the right side of the road. Our name is on the first mailbox (Dawson/Ethan’s Retreat).

FROM NASHVILLE:

If you are coming into Nashville on OH-39/OH-60 (from Loudonville), proceed straight through the intersection with OH-514 (the traffic signal in Nashville). Approximately 100 feet ahead, turn right at the Buckeye Deli onto Monroe Street, which is also Holmes County 52.

If you are coming into Nashville on OH-514 (from Shreve), turn left onto OH-39/OH-60 at the traffic signal. Approximately 100 feet ahead, turn right at the Buckeye Deli onto Monroe Street, which is also Holmes County 52.

Follow Holmes County 52 for about 5 ½ miles to Glenmont. You will know you are getting close when you get to the Stop sign in the middle of nowhere. As you come in to Glenmont the speed limit will drop to 25. Bear right to stay on CR-52/Monroe St. In one block, turn left on Main Street. In one block, turn right on Clifton St/CR-25. Follow CR-25 a little over 2 miles to CR-6. This corner is very poorly marked, but there is a statuary store at the corner. You will make a sharp left turn (this is an inverted “y” intersection) onto CR-6. About a half mile ahead is our entrance road. There is a row of mailboxes on the right side of the road. Our name is on the first mailbox (Dawson/Ethan’s Retreat).

Turn right onto the private lane. This is a dirt road that is shared with three other properties. The road ends at our property, approx. 0.8 mile off CR-6. FROM MILLERSBURG:

In Millersburg, US-62 turns left (south) and joins with OH-83. After about two miles, when you get to the end of town, turn right to continue on US-62 west (toward Killbuck and Danville).

In approximately 5 miles, just past the downtown Killbuck turnoff, and immediately after crossing over Killbuck Creek, turn right onto OH-520. Your navigation may suggest one of the township roads (56, 66, 31, or 34) instead. Please don’t do that.
